The Consulting Engineers Corporation (CEC) Story began with a vision - a national Structural Engineering service provider with network of offices in several states of United States to cater to the needs of the builders, architects and homeowners for quick and quality engineering solutions.
CEC-AZ is a member company of Consulting Engineers, Corp. and provides specialized consultancy in Structural Engineering Services for Residential Construction Industry in Arizona.

At present, we provide Structural Engineering Services for 17 of the Top 150 Builders in the United States (as rated by Builder Magazine). Three of those builders are in the Top 10.

The services that we provide to clients vary from designing simple repairs for broken framing members to complete engineering analysis for the entire structural framing system that includes lateral design for wind and seismic forces and gravity framing design. The service that most of our clients request is the "Value Engineering" of their structures. This "Value Engineering" review has provided our clients with significant construction cost-savings.

The most important part of "Value Engineering" process is the review of the lateral (shear wall) system of the structure. We have the capability to investigate several shearwall / holdown schemes to typically reduce the number of holdowns, and to reduce the total number and linear feet of shearwalls. In fact, we have "in-house" computer software to design the lateral system, which gives us a great advantage over most other engineering companies that still use "hand-calculation" methods. This fact, along with application of good judgment, can enable us to "fine-tune" the lateral system, and provide a very efficient final design.

We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of residential engineering services. For a typical design and drafting of a single story house, we can generally turn the work around in four day's time. Some jobs take a bit longer but our sense of urgency does not change. Most of our clients are high volume builders and can't afford to wait days or weeks for the engineering to be completed. They don't have to wait for us.

For the past decade, we have been developing computer software that utilizes all of the necessary engineering formula, calculations and recent building codes to provide designs based upon sound engineering practices and principles. The appropriate use of available technology allows us to provide our services in the shortest possible amount of time.
